Nicole S. Chudzinski MSW RSW

Clinical Therapist, Registered Social Worker (OASW #822369) and Registered Marriage and Family Therapist (AAMFT # 159672)

With over a decade of experience working in mental health and addictions treatment Nicole brings a wealth of knowledge, resources, skills and information about mental wellness and recovery in a warm and welcoming way.

Nicole is rooted in the belief that people do the best they can with what they have (knowledge, skills, experiences etc.), however along the way we have learned things about our thoughts, feelings, how we relate to others and our patterns of coping with life that are no longer helpful for us. Counselling with Healing Moments Therapy is about finding a safe space to be heard, feel supported, and to learn new ways of approaching the important relationships in your life, including the most important one: the one with yourself.

As a client of Healing Moments Therapy you will have access to my entire toolbox because I believe access to evidence based tools, strategies and ideas related to mental illness and substance use will help you move towards the life you want to be living. Tools I use in counselling include, but are not limited to, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Narrative and Relational Therapies, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Mindfulness Based Therapy and for individuals with concerns about your substance use we can work on readiness and strategies for change. I believe counselling is essential, individually tailored to your needs and meant to be time limited. At Healing Moments we are about small moments for lasting change.

I have experience supporting clients and families experiencing; difficulties adjusting to life’s stresses, overwhelming experiences of grief and loss, sadness connected to life transitions, mood disorders, major depression, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, histories of trauma, substance use concerns, selfharming behaviours, suicidal thoughts and postpartum depression and anxiety. Additionally, for those who are unsure about what is going on for you but feel like your life should not be so hard, this is a welcoming place to start.

I am here and you are able. I want to help you get your life back.

Take a deep breath. Be gentle with yourself. This next step will likely increase your anxiety, but

“If you keep on doing what you’ve always done, you’ll keep on getting what you’ve always got.” (W. L. Bateman).

Healing Moments is about Healing. Healing is about you moving away from feeling overwhelmed, controlled or defined by your current struggle.
